About Us
The Center for the Arts is proud to open its doors to a brand new, reimagined community arts facility that is home to a year-round schedule of programming in the culinary, performing, visual and literary arts. The Center's schedule includes art exhibitions, artist-in-residence programs, lectures, live music, film screenings, art classes, and inspirational authors of all genres of literature. As the Western Slope's premier arts venue, the Center's spaces include the 400-seat, cutting-edge Steddy Theater and the Kinder Padon Gallery, showcasing local, regional, national and international visual arts exhibitions.
In addition to our popular signature events, including Alpenglow, the Mountain Words Literary Festival, and the Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival, the Center gratefully serves as a central events venue for local community organizations, including the Crested Butte School of Dance, Trailhead Children's Museum, Crested Butte Mountain Theatre, Crested Butte Music Festival, Crested Butte Film Festival, Public Policy Forum of Crested Butte, Crested Butte Community School Enrichment Program, Crested Butte Clay Studio, and more.
Together, we bring quality attractions such as film screenings, live theatrical performances, and music festivals to our rural mountain town. The Center also offers rental space for private meetings, weddings, and social gatherings in the King Community Room, the Jones Performance Hall or the third-floor Comiskey Terrace with panoramic views of Paradise Divide and Mount Crested Butte. www.crestedbuttearts.org.
